MarEdu – Maritime Education Partnership

This network of European Partners for 'safer seas' across Europe has been developed to harmonise the education and training of merchant navy officers and to address various deficiencies and problems in the current requirements and practices. The network has instigated several European projects to address specific deficiencies or problems in the maritime sector.

MarEdu is a partnership of CFF-TUDEV and their European partners. Based in the UK the centre offers a range of support services on behalf of its partners, its primary aim is to improve safety at sea. MarEdu’s work includes the setting up of European and European Union Funded projects with its ever increasing number of partners. CFF-TUDEV established an international institute named ‘TUDEV Institute of Maritime Studies’ in 2003 using the International approval Edexcel/BTEC education system with support from British and European Institute’s Professor Ziarati, CFF Chairman who became the General Coordinator of TUDEV Institute. In 2008, the Institute received the approval to become a university from the Turkish Higher Education Council, and the name of the new university is Piri Reis University.
