Dogus / Piri Reis Universities – Establishment of New Universities

C4FF has also been involved in major international projects developing new universities and colleges in Europe, Asia and the Middle-east.

Most recent developments include C4FF supporting Dogus Group of Schools to establish the Dogus Institute of Higher Education. In 1995 Professor Ziarati, C4FF Chairman became the Academic Director of Dogus Institute of Higher Education in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University in Istanbul, Turkey, leading to the Institute becoming a university two years later called Dogus University (www.dogus.edu.tr). Professor Ziarati was seconded to the University as the Dean and continued with his role as the Principal of Dogus Institute of Higher Education.

In 2003 C4FF become involved in establishing a major maritime education partnership called MarEdu (www.maredu.co.uk) which entails the development of TUDEV Institute of Maritime Studies (www.tudev.com.tr) in Istanbul with the Institute receiving approval to become a university from the Turkish Higher Education Council in 2008. The name of the new university is Piri Reis (www.pirireis.edu.tr).
